WEIRD TIMES PRODUCE WEIRD THOUGHTS. TO WIT:
- I grew up in the times when there were colleges…and in one of them I learned about Empires and the good things they produced. For example, the Roman Empire produced a good road system, and good methods to supply water to waterless communities (aqueducts and such) and an enforceable Tax system. I can’t remember what they said the British Empire did that was good…or any other empire for that matter. Anyway this led me to thinking about what good the American Empire brought to the world – before its recent collapse. Hollywood, Rock ‘n Roll, Shareholder Capitalism, really good flushing toilets. Oh, I just remembered, all Empires developed the best weapon systems of the day and America was the best at that.
- I was wondering if you did a study where you took a big group of children and put them on a space ship to go to another planet…and you taught them only the really nice things you could think of that humans could do and have done (like making RomComs, and doing Line Dancing and praising the good lord before eating cookies) …and you took another group of children to outer space and you taught them about the truth about what humans could do to each other (i.e., slavery, land grabbing, open carrying and such)…Which of those groups would produce the better civilization? They ought to do a study.
- Some people I talk to say they are over-flooded XXXwith the news and they “have had it” and are cutting back. So, I have checked it out, on my phone, to see what else there is to read: “How I Made A Thousand Dollars A Day Using Chat GPT”, “5 Books I Read Which Helped Me Become A Billionaire”, “These Three Stocks Will Make You A Millionaire If The Market Collapses”. And there is always: “How To get Rid of Belly-Fat Without Dieting Or Exercising”. …I think I will try to keep up with what is happening to the Deportees.
