IS IT STILL ‘A TRUE STORY’ IF THE NAMES AND FACTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED? (answer below*)

*Answer to question above: Yes it is still ‘A True Story’, if you tell it often enough)

Our Hero (Seen above), informs us he may be running for political office after all – this time for the Presidency. He has skipped Iowa, and is skipping N.H. and whichever Carolina is having a hoo-hah down there. As a matter of fact, this may be the only place he will ever appear.

The other day he told us:  “The words ‘Person’, ‘Woman’, ‘Man’, ‘Camera’, ‘TV’ – keep going through my mind…and I have not even taken the mental acuity test yet…so maybe I’m smarter than anyone thinks…also, I know that if I saw pictures of a tiger, a giraffe, a whale and hundred other animals – I could tell you which one was the Whale…especially if it were a Right Whale. Thank goodness the test does not ask me what I had for dinner last night… and sometimes I don’t know whether it is Wednesday or Thursday…but none of that should preclude me from becoming President of the U.S.”

P.S. We heard on a ‘Hot Mic’ he is thinking of cutting up an old suit of his – into one inch squares – and offering the squares for a onetime only, cheap price of   $100…two pieces for $200…

You gotta love politics these days.

…Wait a minute! What is that hat? Is it Russian? Who gave it to him? And at what cost?

Unfinished Business:

  • The Bystander Effect: This is where, when something terrible is going on and a lot of people witness it and nobody does anything about it because they think someone else is taking care of it. (i.e., a woman screaming for help in an alley and everybody who hears it thinks somebody else is reporting it, etc., etc. It seems there is a lot of this Effect going on …but I have a new term:
  • The Ganderstander Effect: This is where a lot of individuals know something wrong is taking place (i.e., Elevated levels of burning fossil fuels, Corporate price gauging, political corruption, etc., etc.) but they have resolved: “There is nothing I can do about it anyway.” And so they just cluck their tongues and shrug their shoulders and watch it all, including themselves, go down the drain.
  • I have been reading that, in the past, the American voter “Voted his/her pocketbook, or wallet.” ..that is to say he/she voted primarily out of concerns with his/her financial situation…but a shift seems to be occurring and many of the voters of today are voting more along ‘Partisan’ lines, aka, being a ‘Member’ of a club, a society, a whatever…I have also been reading that our Human Evolution has not really been due to ‘The fittest survive’ but due to various ‘Groups’ dominating and achieving over their circumstances…So, I guess this ‘Group Partisanship’ thing is something of which to take note in that we may soon evolve into something like what the Group’s Leader  has become.
  • I just had a money making idea: Let’s create a practice test…a cheat sheet, if you will, for the mental acuity exams…teach people how to pass those cruel exams…not unlike the California DMV Cheat-Sheet & Practice Test,  (For $19.99  – guaranteed to Pass, or your money back) or the courses they sell students on how to improve their SAT scores…but we produce a cheat sheet so our customer does not look like his mind has already gone soft. We could pay some Political Celebs to endorse it…I want 10% of the action if any of you do this thing.

A few quotes:

  •  “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” -George Orwell, “1984”“
  • “‘Person, Man, Woman, camera, TV’ -They said nobody gets it in order, it’s actually not that easy. But for me it was easy. And that’s not an easy question,” -A former President speaking to a FOX news medical analyst. (This quote was originally uttered over 3 years ago, so things may have changed.)

That’s all from here for the week…and a fond “hello” to Patrick, wherever you are…
