Last week we showed you a photo of a Cat meant for a Cat Lady. (You could look it up) We received all kinds of responses, some of which claimed we were biased and showed only part of the true story. So, to make up for our shortfall, we show you a picture of a Dog meant for a Dog Lady (And, or a Dog Gentleman – if there is such a thing). Dogs can be good, too, even if you have kids, or don’t have a family at all, or anyone else you like.
“MARGIN OF ERROR”: This is a new phrase to me. When I was in high school and I was off by a few points in my math, they gave me an ‘X’ for my effort and said I got it wrong. Nobody said I was simply outside the Margin of Error. Today, it seems we get a little more wiggle room on what conclusions we come up with. For Examples: 1) Some of us think we can address this Climate Change thing (within a Margin of Error) in a few years, give or take. (July had the hottest global temperatures on record – beating the record set the month before FYI) 2) …And, or, we will lower the cost of certain pharmaceuticals – in a few years’ time – give or take. 3) …And, or, we will lower the cost of certain pharmaceuticals – in a few years time – give or take..And, or, some of us think some of us do not have to follow the exact same rules as others of us have to follow We are now living outside the margins – give or take
WITHIN THE MARGINS: It is said 91% of American Homes have air Conditioning. It is said the average electric bill in the U.S. will be $720 for June thru September…It is said 80% of Americans will pay these bills on credit. It is said 150-175 million Americans were living under ‘Heat Alerts’ last week. It is said, by “Experts”, 10 new A/C units will be sold every second for at least the next few years. What happened to fans? …and what about those hats you could put ice cubes in which would cool you off? What’s happened to the Climate in the first place? I thought this was not supposed to happen until a few years from now. I’d give an ‘X’ to those people who predicted that.
ALTAR STONE: There is much speculation about an ‘Altar Stone’ which is found at the center of Stonehenge. It weighs over 8 tons and researchers have proved it came from a place in Scotland over 450 miles away from where Stonehenge is located. How did it get there? Apparently, not on a cart, for the ‘wheel’ had not been sufficiently invented at the time. (Some say the wheel first appeared in Mesopotamia – wherever that is, or in pre-Ukraine, or maybe even Poland…but certainly not in Scotland…(I have heard the wheel did not get to Scotland until very recently). Some say the Altar stone arrived on a boat; but no one knows how it got on the boat or how the people who were waiting for it to arrive knew it was coming because they did not have I-phones back then, let alone wheels. Aren’t such problems more fun to consider than the ones regarding the Margins of Error discussed above? For some, it is more comfortable to delve into the mysteries of the past, than it is to ponder into the mists of the future. I am often among those “some”.
