We are having a ‘Wine Festival” in our little town. All those roofs are housing various ‘Tuscans’. It is beautiful; no? Romantic in a way…See all the people way back there?…They are tasting the wines. The mayor closed the festival 2 hours early last year because he thought some people were drinking too much. Sometimes I think things look a little better in the dark.(See below.)

- I think I had a thought the other day….I had been reading about ‘Tourists’ and how many there are and how some of them misbehave and how many of the ‘locals’ don’t like the ‘invasions’ by them even though they need them…and here was my realization: Tourists are a form of Immigrants with other means. (See Clausewitz quote below)
- AS PROMISED: Last week I suggested we could eliminate some of the Ten Commandments from the list we are putting up on our schoolroom walls – and we (successfully) argued that the Commandment about not lying need no longer be obeyed because it is in violation of our Right of ‘Free Speech”. This week, I say we could also strip out the one about “Honoring the Sabbath’…since it says “…no work shall be done by you or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave or by the alien who lives with you…” First off, no one wants our children to know what slaves are, or were ( FYI a case in point: Former U.S. President Trump asked Dept. of Education Secretary Betsy de Voss to eliminate ‘Slavery’ from our education system…she opined such an act would be illegal)…and second off, we Americans honor the right of the ‘Pursuit of property’…and, therefor, we can sell, or make whatever we want 7 days a week…the harder we work, the better we are…and third off; how do you explain “…the alien who lives with you” to our innocent little children? When I was a child, and thought like a child, I feared the chemistry chart on my classroom wall and knew some terrible learning was coming my way. Imagine what this Commandment on the classroom walls will do to our children’s peace of mind. So now we are down to a mere 8 Commandments the kids will have to memorize, or obey. Next week I will suggest another deletion.
