COME ONE, COME ALL…GOOD TIMES AHEAD, MAYBE, SOMEHOW.

LOOK!  Isn’t this fun?  Good times ahead.  There now, didn’t this photo of a Carnival ballon slide for children take your mind off what’s happening for a few seconds?  Read on…

I’ve noticed lately, every time I get together with friends for a coffee – or a bite to eat; at least one of us says something like ‘Let’s not talk about ‘Politics’. And things start off pretty well; but within a few minutes we cross the line, and are deep into The Derangement Syndrome.  So, today I will try not to refer to the ‘Political Situation”; let’s see what happens:

  • Blueberries  A blurb came up on my Instagram which said Blueberries are one of the best 5 foods I can eat.  Then, I read in another posting Blueberries are over-rated, especially American Chemicalized Blueberries, and in fact should rarely be eaten, if at all.  Next thing you know, I’m wondering about the agency that is supposed to protect us from such foods…is it the FDA?  Does it still exist? Ooops, I crossed the line.
  • One of my on-line feeds sends me messages which tell me about the 9 books famous people recommend I should read if I want to be: Rich, The Most Interesting Person in the Room, Famous, or just plain Happy. The most recent hustle was ‘The 9 books Musk recommends’. I did not pay for the list.  Who is in charge of these algos?  Should DOGE look into this?  There, I’ve gone off course, again.
  •  I read CHAT GPT produces, each month, the same amount of CO2 emissions as 260 flights from New York City to London.  More important; who is in the Control Towers watching those landings?  People of mixed races?  Women?  Short people? I’m not flying anywhere until this is sorted out.  I’ll stay home and create an AI novel. I’ll take the first lines from “A TALE OF TWO CITIES” -Dickens, 1859  “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way”…and redact it to my specs: “It is the worst of times, it is the age of foolishness, it is the epoch of incredulity, it is the season of Darkness, it is the winter of despair, we have nothing before us, we are all going direct to…”
Maybe generate one of those books famous people say you should read.
  • Good news!  “Google teased a quantum chip which could solve problems in under 5 minutes that today’s top computers would take 10 septillion years to work out.”  It does make me wonder if that chip can get all those Government workers who have been fired by mistake…back to the office again.
  • So, the other day TrumpVance ambushed Zelenski in the White House. I Think TrumpVance behaved worse than anybody I have ever seen or heard about. I am in Europe and have been approached by several locals all of whom have expressed deep concern over the stability of the U.S.  I wish we could all talk about Blueberries and whether or not they are good for us.

That’s more than there is…and ‘Goodnight’ to Woody Guthrie, wherever you are.
