Oh, WHAT A TIME IT IS…

What’s to be said? Time seems to be “out of joint”. I never understood what that phrase meant before; but I think I’m getting it now.—————-

  • Tariffs, I believe, are not tax cuts.  In fact, I know they are not tax cuts.  I also believe if Tariffs are “Hugely” put into effect they will damage an economy, “Hugely”.
  • There are some things you know – and you don’t believe.  For example I know planes can fly…but I do not believe air moving faster over a wing made of metal can make a 747 fly 30,000 feet up in the air.  Also, I know a heavy piece of metal sinks in water; but if you turn that piece of metal’s shape into that of an oil tanker – it will float.  Don’t talk to me about the “Displacement by Volume of Water Theory”…I just don’t get some things.  Then there are things you Believe; but you don’t Know.  You might Believe ‘Things are going to get better’ but you don’t Know things are going to get better.  You might Believe someone is coming back to save you…but you don’t really Know. I also have trouble understanding the subject of breathing.  I am told some of the air we inhale has a certain amount of Nitrogen in it…and when we exhale, somehow things change and less Nitrogen comes out of our mouths and noses than went in and CO2 is produced, thereby, and sent into the air.  Are you following?  Well, if 9 billion of us are breathing, let’s say fifteen times a minute all day, every day…you do the math…Isn’t that a lot of CO2 going into the atmosphere?  And what happened to all the missing Nitrogen?  ..And couple that with all the carbon foot-printing airplanes that shouldn’t be flying, even if they can.  And the tankers leaking oil into the oceans….and…some of us believe the real problem is caused by the flatulences of cows.. and.. and I took your mind off the subject of tariffs for a few seconds, didn’t I?   I Believe that is a good thing.
  • “Dumbo!  C’mon, fly!  Open them ears!  You can fly!  Honest you can!”      -Timothy Q. Mouse
  • “Time is out of Joint: O cursed spite. That ever I was born to set it right.” -Shakespeare, “Hamlet”, Act 1, Scene 5

I believe that’s it for this week. And a fond ‘Hello” to Peanut-Butter, wherever you are.

Here is an inconvenient truth for you…If you believe manmade global warming is an existential threat to the planet…then there is a single inescapable inconvenient truth…All of the efforts we have undertaken and have proposed do not even remotely make a dent in the damage that has been done or will continue to be done…The only conclusion that can be drawn is that there is a moral imperative to have a massive reduction in the amount of C02 and other greenhouse gases that we produce. This reduction is only possible with massive amounts of reduction in consumption…The inescapable fact is that there are too many people consuming too much of everything….We have to somehow have a massive reduction in the number of people….I only hope that they let me be chosen to live.

    1. Well said! Please buy and read “Novacene” by Lovelock…and you will be troubled enough to do what you can to stop this over-population thing. Best, Chris
