There is no Update on NOTEFLIX’s production of “Troubles in the Garden” due to our sympathy with the writer’s strike. However, we are giving updates on members of our staff. See here, a photo of MATHUZALA, our Resident Rodent Guest Columnist and lead actor in our forthcoming Series. MATHUZALA has been missing for several weeks now and we are greatly concerned for his safety. Yes, it is true that MATHUZALA has called for a rodent uprising, and it is true the rodents have uprisen in many cities. And it is true that several mayors have called for his arrest. But still, no one knows anything about his whereabouts, nor, if he is at large, or what he is up to next. Come back next week for more on this.
INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS:
- Recently, there have been a lot of news items which speak of death. Crimes, accidents, wars, disease – you name it. I have also noticed there has been quite a spate of deaths among popular musicians. Here is the thought I wish I could blame on someone else: You do not want to die the same day a famous ‘Rock Star’ gives up the ghost, because no one will know you are gone, because everybody will only be reading endlessly about somebody who travelled the world singing for millions of worshipping groupies and making beaucoup de dollars. When a beloved ‘Rock Star’ dies you have to go to page three to see who is running for President (aside for Trump, of course), or who is being sued by who. I guess the lesson here is: Die in between celebrity deaths; you cannot compete..
- So. I was talking to a friend the other day about student loan forgiveness…and he said he thought it was unfair to those who worked hard and paid back their loans and others just got off Scott free. ….and I thought the same argument could be made for the Slaves who worked hard, saved their money and purchased their own freedom – and then woke up one day to find all the others were freed, for free, after the Civil War…How unfair was that!…My friend looked at me as if I did not understand that was then and this is now.
OTHER KINDS OF THOUGHTS:
- Have you seen the cost of College lately? Scary! But then I find there are ‘Free on-line’ courses you can take…and even get degrees. Education for education sake? Even the poorest among us can become educated. What on earth is going on? You could look it up. You can study just about anything you did study and paid for, for free. I think this may be unfair; but I’m not sure.
- Yes, we have altered the climate and changed the position of the earth’s axis in relation to the sun…but there are other forces at work, for which we are not prepared to even consider. For example, there is a scary, huge, volcano – under water that has a main vent which extends in a line some 40,000 miles and goes under all the oceans…think of the red seams on a baseball, or the black lines on a basketball…and these lines have leaks and gushers of hot goo coming out of them – some 15 stories high…The thing is, the few people who study this 40,000 mile snake (Known as the ‘Ridge’) are convinced it is about to act up – somehow due to Global Warming, and get its share of the headlines. There are hot microbes living and swarming down there. What’s next? This is one of those things you can do nothing about, even if you know about it – so maybe they should not talk about it in school or churches or other places. But it could make a good movie, if the script writers ever get back to work.

Some quotes…because they are so good:
- “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” —Mark Twain
- “I’m not afraid to die, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” —Woody Allen
And on a political front:
- There’s nothing in the middle of the road but yellow stripes and dead armadillos.” – Jim Hightower, former Texas Senator (D)
- In politics, absurdity is not a handicap – Napoleon Bonaparte
That’s it for this week…and a fond “Hello” to Como Dave, wherever you are.
