The Events Of The Day Exceedeth All Expectations…

  • “This too shall pass.” …I have heard that sentiment uttered several times recently, as some sort of a signal of hope. But what if ‘This’ not passeth before I passeth? What good does it do if it passes after I am choked off? I need ‘This’ to passeth today…before the Super Bowl and Bad Bunny and the ICE people at the game and before State Police have to have shoot-outs with ICE Invaders…and before the East Wing Beautiful Ballroom is open to Million Dollar Dances, or Mount Rushmore gets a new face …and before we pay a Quarter Billion Dollars to Il Capo for his defense legal fees….etc., etc. While it all has not yet passed, it surpasseth all understanding.
  • I think I have finally figured it all out: There is a three pronged stool upon which we are sitting: Prong #1) Climate Change. We talk about it, yet are doing nothing about it. Prong #2) AI. We talk about it, do not understand it and let it roll on, unregulated…) and Prong #3) Wealth disparity, which is the biggest problem of all because the Wealthy  (Corporate shareholders & Billionaires) don’t want Climate Change to be addressed (Fossil Fuels, carbon emissions, etc., etc.)…Nor do they want AI to be regulated while the getting is good. (…not having to pay the total bill for the increased energy costs, not paying for royalties & licenses, & data, etc., etc.) So, I think those who are in the wealthy rung of the  Disparity are the problem…though, in some way, I’d like to be a member of that group. Which is another problem.
  • I read several of our wealthiest Billionaires are speaking out against  ‘Empathy’ and how ‘Empathy’ disrupts  ‘The Progress of Man’…and I read there are forces in the part of the White House which is still standing, that there is no room for ‘Empathy’ in the political process…and my readings  tell me ‘Money Talks’…and I fear for 80% of the people. Sometimes I wish I could remove my Empathetic inclinations and maybe find my way into the top 20%.
