Here, you see a picture of Henrietta, the Famous Choco-Bird. She has just made her annual trip out of her shell to give us her prediction about the Past. As far as we can tell, what she said was the Past is going to get better in some places – even though there may be less of it. ….and then she skittered back into her shell for another year of rest.

Thoughts generated from a few notes:
- Remember the phrase “Hindsight is 20-20”? …meaning, I guess, it is easy to see what should have been done in the past when you have the benefit in the present of knowing what has happened. i.e., “He should’a thrown the football to the guy in the end zone instead trying to run over the Center!”. Or, ‘”They should’a impeached the guy because he is a crook and now he is going to do it again.”…that sort of thing. But the problem is, nowadays, we are not all told what happened in the past, and some of our children may even be told about less of the past than we were told when we were children and their hindsight might become 20-60, or 40-50, or worse., because they will have no idea about what happened then…if you take my meaning.
- I read some Fire Ants, when they come to a stream they want to cross, will form a raft – made of themselves – and cross over. I got to wondering what happens to the Fire Ants who make up the bottom of the raft. Were they chosen to be on the bottom because they could hold there breath longer than the others? Do they drown? Were they the low bottom scum class of the ants and were they forced to do the job? Or were they brave Heroes? Did the dry ants at the top of the raft trickle down any of their benefits – from having been on top – to the relatives of the dead bottom scum ants? There is still much to be learned.
- I read, because of bad weather, because of Climate Change, there is a shortage of Cacao, which means there is a shortage of chocolate, which means the price of all things chocolate is going through the roof. (You can take the previous sentence and replace chain of events with the subject of Maple Syrup.) Cacao is more expensive than Copper in the market today. Pretty soon, you may read about thieves who used to steal Catalytic Converters will come into houses and steal M&Ms and such. Don’t laugh, the whole world has gone mad and is going to get madder.

Two quotes:
- “…all we say is, ‘Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.’ Well, I’m not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot – I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about… inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad. You’ve got to say, ‘I’m a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!’ So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, ‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'” -Peter Finch as’Richard Beale’ in the movie “NETWORK”, 1976 (And Mr. Beale said all this 48 years before we were all sitting in our man caves reveling in Conspiracy theories…..Today, we should yell “We are MADDER than HELL…”
- “Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.” -Mark Twain …late 1890’s
That’s it for this week…thank you for your time, this time, until next time…And a fond “Hello” to all of you who have not fallen for “The Big Lie”, wherever you are.
