At last! We have returned to the terrace. Spring is here. Flowers in bloom. Aaaah…Let’s see what I have here in my notes…They can’t ruin my day…can they?
- I read an article where it said Americans have more cavities in their teeth than they had a hundred years ago.Well, maybe we have more teeth in our mouths later in life than we had a hundred years ago – and, therefor, more opportunities to have cavities. Did they ever think of that? It goes to show you have to question what you read these days.
- I also read we are a nation suffering from high rates of: Acid Reflux, Carbo-Shock & Pain Killers. (AR/C-S/PK ) …not to mention many of us have not successfully eliminated ‘Trans-Fats’ (T-Fs) from our bodies, despite our having reduced their intake over the past 4 years, by eating less processed foods and getting more of our fats from ruminant animals. I would like to see data on whether people who suffer from AR/C-S/PK & T-Fs can be spotted by the naked eye of non-licensed medical diagnosticians (Like myself)…and if those who have it tend to vote for those who are similarly afflicted. What I am saying is: It seems to me one of our Presidential Candidates looks as if he is still storing old Trans-Fats and often speaks as if he is about to be impeded by bouts of Acid Reflux and slurs words as if his mouth were loosened by an excess of Pain-killers. Does data show voters tend to vote for people who have the same afflictions as they do? I wonder. Maybe I’ll take a TUMS.
- I read a paper where it said: Social Movements go through 3 Steps. Step One is Ridicule. Step Two is Discussion. Step 3 is Adoption. Here is what I have come up with: As far as Climate Control – We are in Step ONE and a Half. As for Women’s Equal Rights; we are in any of the Steps – depending upon which State you step in. (…same with Racial Equality…though, arguably more emphasis on Ridicule than Adoption) A far as the Social Movement of Democracy: We might be stepping backward and going from Adoption to Ridicule.
- I read where football has not only caused serious brain problems with some professional football players; but many children have received head injuries playing the game as well. And not only that; many of those head injuries have resulted in pseudo-spiritual experiences …and I wonder if this has further resulted in turning otherwise innocent children into Right-Wing Christian/Fundamentalists? The question is: Should we be playing more, or less Football?
